Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Men are now almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime as women diagnosed with breast cancer.
In view of this, Rotary Club of Chatswood International Inc. will be holding the third of a series of public dinner lecture "Should I be tested for Prostate Cancer? " on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. The talk will aim to address one of the most fundamental and yet vexing issues: should men be screened for prostate cancer? The current arguments for and against screening will be discussed, as will the opposing views advocated by prominent organisations.
The lecture will be delivered by Dr Venu G. Chalasani, a Urologist who is at present teaching at Royal North Shore Hospital and operating at Sydney Adventist Hospital. He will be introduced by Dr Anil Keshava, a colorectal surgeon and the Director of Basic Surgical Training for Concord Hospital, and is also on the Court of Examiners for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
The public dinner lecture will be held at Kam Fook Seafood Restaurant, Level 6, Westfield Shopping Centre, Chatswood, commencing at 7 pm sharp. Cost is $35 per person.
